Help Mother Nature with a tap with GCash Forest

GCash is looking to plant 365,000 trees
Want to do your part for Mother Nature but don’t have enough time to trudge out yourself to plant trees? Well, you’ll be happy to know that GCash is making it easier for you to care for the environment thanks to a new feature on their app dubbed GCash Forest.
GCash Forest essentially allows subscribers to plant virtual trees for a price, which will then have real-life counterparts. GCash is looking to plant around 365,000 trees after 365 days.
GCash is implementing its tree-planting initiatives with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN). The DENR will provide land and resources in the Ipo Watershed, while the WWF provides the trees and manpower. BIOFIN will provide their expertise in monitoring the project.
As for the app, users will need to get “green energy” before they can plant trees, which can be accumulated by using the app. Once they have enough green energy, they can choose which tree they want to plant in selected areas of the Ipo watershed.
The project doesn’t stop there – once the trees are planted, users are given updates on their tree, including a certificate of ownership plus a serial number, fun facts and update on the growth of their selected trees via their app.
