GCash CEO Martha Sazon joins Tatler Asia’s Most Influential list

Martha Sazon, the president and CEO of GCash, the country’s leading mobile wallet, was recently named one of Asia’s Most Influential in 2022 by Tatler Asia, the leading luxury media publication in the region.

Sazon was recognized for spear-heading GCash’s exponential growth and making Filipinos’ lives better through the mobile wallet app’s safe and convenient digital financial products and services. This is the second time that Sazon has been included in the list, following a similar recognition in 2021.

Tatler Asia’s annual Asia’s Most Influential Flagship list spans 19 industries and categories ranging from art to finance to sustainability. Asia’s Most Influential brings together the region’s most innovative changemakers, industry leaders, and powerful individuals who are shaping the region through positive impact.

Under her leadership, GCash has more than tripled its user base with over 71 million registered users as of the end of November 2022. GCash has also continued to expand its merchant and social seller base to 5.5 million, 1.6x larger than in 2021. Moreover, GCash has further grown its cash-in and cash-out outlets for its users to over 557,000 – the most number of digital touchpoints for any e-wallet in the country.

In recognition of GCash’s effort to introduce innovative digital products and services that greatly improved the lives of Filipinos and for its quick response to the needs of its customers, especially during the pandemic, GCash also received the Philippine Technology Excellence for e-wallet under the Financial Technology category in the prestigious Asian Technology Excellence Awards. Likewise, GCash was named the Most Secure Fintech Solutions Provider and the Best Leading Fintech Company in the country in 2022 at the International Business Magazine Awards.
