*On Hospital Cash Coverage: For hospitalization, the benefit plan is paid PHP250 for each day spent in a hospital as an inpatient due to sickness or injuries. To claim this benefit, you must have spent a minimum of three days in the hospital as an inpatient. Hospitalization due to sickness is only payable if it occurs after the 15-day waiting period.

Buying/Renewing Insurance Made Easy

  2. Once your insurance policy is fully processed, the insurance fee of your chosen insurance product will be automatically deducted from your GCash balance. Make sure you have enough balance in your GCash account to have a successful transaction!
  3. You will receive your insurance policy details via SMS immediately after the premium payment amount is successfully deducted from your wallet. Once you receive the SMS, you’re officially protected and subscribed to GCash Insurance!
  4. Every 30 days, your GCash Insurance protection will automatically renew. We will bill you with the monthly premium of your subscription.

GCash Insurance is powered by MicroEnsure and underwritten by AXA, both leading players in the industry.

To avail of GCash Insurance, you need to be:

  • Within the age of 18-64.
  • Who can I nominate as my dependents under the family products?
  • Married users may nominate the following dependents:
    • Legal spouse who is not older than 64 years of age.
    • Children that are 3 – 21 years old.
    • Single users may nominate the following dependents:
    • Parents who are not older than 64 years of age. 
    • Siblings that are 3 – 21 years old.

Make sure that you can provide a proof of relationship with these nominated dependents, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate when making any claim.

You can check these 4 things to make sure.

  • Eligibility: Are you a fully verified user within the age of 18-64? You can check this by going to your GCash profile in the app.
  • SMS: Did you text the correct product code? Make sure you got the capitalization and spacing right!
  • Balance: Does your GCash wallet have enough balance? Payments are automatically deducted from your balance so make sure there’s enough for us to activate!
  • Processing Time: Our current processing time takes 1-2 days. If you haven’t gotten a response, rest assured that our team’s working on it. We’re looking for ways to make this faster in the future!

Your coverage under GCash Insurance starts the moment you receive the confirmation SMS 1-2 days after texting.

Do note that the insured member and dependents (if any) will only be eligible for a death benefit or hospital benefit after a 15-day waiting period from the start of his/her coverage, if death or hospitalization is due to sickness. No waiting period shall apply for death and hospital confinements due to accidents.

You can cancel your GCash Insurance subscription any time you want.

  • You will receive SMS confirmation of your cancellation 1-2 days after sending your email.
  • If you cancel within 15 days after your initial enrollment date and as long as you haven’t made any claims, you will receive a refund of the premium amount paid.

This is possible under the death benefit you can claim under our Term Life and Personal Accident Insurance. If  there is no beneficiary designated by the Member or if there is no designated beneficiary surviving  at the time of such payout, the following persons will be designated to receive the benefits, in the following order of preference:

  1. Surviving spouse
  2. Surviving children
  3. Surviving parents
  4. Surviving brothers and sisters
  5. Estate executor or administrator

Your subscription is automatically renewed every month. The monthly premium amount will be deducted from your GCash wallet on each monthly cutoff.

In case you miss your payment, all you have to do is load/top-up your GCash account as soon as possible. It’s important to make sure you have funds in your GCash wallet for hassle-free payments! Don’t worry, you will have a 30-day grace period for renewals. Your cover will terminate at the end of the grace period if your monthly premium remains unpaid.

Yes. Death and Hospitalization due to COVID-19 is covered, however, insured member and dependents (if any) will only be eligible for a death benefit after a 15-day waiting period from the start of his/her insurance coverage. To claim the hospital cash assistance benefit, the insured GCash member or dependent must be a hospital inpatient and must have been confined for at least three (3) consecutive days.

The following cases shall not be eligible for benefit payment:

  • Self-inflicted injury, suicide or any attempt threat
  • Strike, riot, civil commotion, acts of terrorism, revolution, insurrection, declared or undeclared war, or any warlike operation
  • Any illegal act committed by the insured (murder, theft, drug-related crime, etc.)
